In order to ensure “high quality mathematics education for each student” the BWHS Math Department: 

• recognizes that curriculum, instruction, and assessments are dynamic, intellectually challenging, and attentive to the diverse needs of students.

• establishes high expectations for all students and provides the support required to help them meet those expectations.

• commits to collaborative practices that ensure continuous improvement and progress toward the vision of becoming servant leaders in the community.

• establishes a safe, caring Christian environment and fosters a culture that is highly collaborative, enabling everyone to engage in ongoing learning.

• values the importance of strong collaborative relationships with its extended community - the Catholic Church, families, other math instructors, residents, businesses, and government agencies.  

Goals: 

• Students will be able to follow a logical procedure to investigate and to solve problems in a variety of content areas and in a variety of situations. 

• Students will develop confidence in their mathematical abilities.
