The following is a press release on Bishop Ward's membership in the newly formed Kaw Valley Conference. NEW KANSAS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC / ACTIVITIES CONFERENCE FORMING Six Kansas schools are joining together to form a NEW high school athletic/activities conference beginning Fall 2021. Olathe-Heritage Christian Academy, Prairie Village-KC Christian, Kansas City-Bishop Ward, Topeka-Cair Paravel Latin School, Shawnee- Maranatha Christian Academy and Lawrence-Seabury Academy are pleased to announce the formation of the KAW VALLEY CONFERENCE. This new association groups together six schools similar in size and competitive capabilities. Each member of the KVC brings a strong history of success in athletics, collectively boasting many individual and team state championships. Additionally, KVC schools are similar in their focus on the Student-athlete. Member schools will be developing conference competition in athletics and activities over the next year, with conference competition beginning Fall of 2021.

COLLEGE SIGNING: Congratulations to Sam Alexander for signing a letter of intent to play football at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. The Trojans are led by Head Coach Josh Anderson and compete in the North Star Athletic Conference. Good luck Sam

Due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, our high school football summer camp scheduled for next week has been postponed. We plan to have camp later in the summer as restrictions are lifted. Next week football will have all-team conditioning Tues/Thur 9-10:30 am.

Bishop Ward High School would like to announce the 2020-21 Cheer Team. Congratulations, we are looking forward for you to lead our Cyclone fans in spirit throughout the next school year. GO CYCLONES!!!

Summer Volleyball Team workouts will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16th. Workouts will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Dorney Field. Workouts will be outside, weather permitting. ALL girls in all grade levels who are interested in playing are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend. All social distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced! Athletes, please dress appropriately, you must wear a mask, and you must bring your own water bottle with you with your name on it. These plans have been developed with the guidance of the State of Kansas, KSHSAA, and the Unified Government Health Department. All plans are subject to change based on the recommendations of these organizations. Lesly is a member of the Track Team. She has also been a 2 yr member of the Cross Country Team, and participated in: Academy of Finance for 3 yrs, Band for 3 yrs, Student Council for 1 yr, Reach for 2 yrs, and the Senior Class Secretary. We are very proud of you, Lesley!

David is a three year member of the Track Team. He also played Football for 3 years, Boys Soccer for 1 year, and Boys Basketball for 2 years. We wish you the best, David!

Leo is a three year member of the track team. He also played Football for 3 years and was a member of the Academy of Finance for 3 years. Good luck, Leo!

Eddie Contreras is a two year member of the Track Team. He also participated in Football for 3 years and Wrestling for 1 year. Good luck, Eddie!

Milton Clendinen is a four year member of the Track Team. He also participated on the Football team for 4 years and on the Boys Basketball Team for 3 years. We wish you the best, Milton!
