It is with heavy hearts that the community of Bishop Ward High School mourns the loss of Richard "Dick" Adams.  Dick was a member of the Class of 1965.  He was also a beloved member of the faculty and a coach in the 1970s and early 2000s.  Dick dearly loved his Bishop Ward family and was very dedicated to education both in the classroom and on the track.  He was devout in his Catholic faith and shared his devotion with his family, students, and teams.  Many wonderful, fun, and at times perhaps a little dangerous, lessons were taught and learned in his science classes.  Whether it was experiments in the classroom, in the halls on first floor, or activities at the stadium, Mr. Adams' booming voice and excitement was heard everywhere he was!  Coach Adams was a passionate athlete during his time as a Cyclone and even more so as a beloved Coach, always encouraging student-athletes to do their best and reach their highest potential.  Our prayers and most sincere condolences are with the Adams Family, his wife Lynne, also a former BWHS teacher, his children:  John Michael, Samuel, Clare, and Rachel, and his siblings. Our thoughts and prayers are also with his extended family, classmates, and friends.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace and may his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen."
