Bishop Ward is able to provide a variety of scholarships thanks to generous alumni and friends of Bishop Ward. Scholarships can be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Through the generosity of our benefactors, we are able to award approximately $800,000 in scholarships and financial aid each year.

How to apply for scholarships:

1. Complete the scholarship application found on the side. (NEW deadline: February 19, 2020 by 4:00 p.m.)

2. Write a one-page, typed essay.

Incoming Freshmen: Explain your reasons for wanting to attend Bishop Ward and how this will help you attain your goals for the future.
Current Students: Describe how you are living out your faith at BWHS. How does this help you prepare for college? How does this affect other areas of your life?

3. Include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, pastor, etc. All letters must be signed and sealed in an envelope by the author.

Please return all applications, essays and letters of recommendation together to the Front Office, Attn: Karina Martinez. Scholarship Deadline is February 19, 2020. For more information call 913.371.6814.

Outside Scholarships
Several local parishes and youth organizations have scholarships available to families. We encourage families to check with their parish and youth organizations where they are involved to see if scholarships are available.

New Special Scholarships
In 2014, the Kansas Legislature introduced the Tax Credit for Low Income Student Scholarship Program (HB2506). This program provides low-income families the opportunity to choose a private education that they might not otherwise be able to afford. Check out the infographic below or email Karina Martinez to see if you qualify.
