Fund-A-Need is an annual capital improvement campaign dedicated to a specific need at the school that helps to preserve the legacy and tradition that began 110 years ago.
It begins every fall and is held in conjunction with the Annual Auction. Thanks to the generous support of many alumni, friends, and organizations, we have been able to accomplish various projects over the years that directly benefit the students and visitors of Bishop Ward. Be a Part of Our Students’ Future!

Support Bishop Ward High School’s strong athletic tradition. With your help, we’ll upgrade the Bishop Ward Athletic Complex and support our talented coaches, players, and teams.
Cross on the Hill
The cross is the most powerful symbol in the history of our church. Working with alumnus sculptor and historian Ed Dwight ‘51, we’ll design a permanent cross to be installed on the east hill of the Dorney Field Complex. The stately, sacred structure will provide a lasting imagery of the moral, social and cultural mysteries of our Faith. Highly visible during the day, and illuminated at night, the cross will be a constant, beautiful presence in the community—just like our historic school. We're putting faith first with students and the community.
PRESS BOX RENOVATIONS
Let’s help Brian McKiernan ‘74 to be the Voice of the Cyclones in style! Both press boxes will be redesigned to include new seating and optimal viewing options. They will be painted, waterproofed, caulked (and all the other necessary upgrades and maintenance items) allowing for our Cyclone civic pride to shine.
Concession Stand & Ticket Booth
Installing a building (rather than the current portable tent set up) will allow us to have a much needed permanent structure. We’ll have more room to sell concessions, spirit wear, and tickets. Running water and electricity will be major enhancements for food preparation. Come enjoy a concession and cheer on the Cyclones!
Batting Cage Renovations
We're keeping our eye on the sky for a Cyclone home run! With our new renovation, the team will have a covered batting area so they can continue their practice on inclement weather days. We’ll add lighting for evening practices. These upgrades will enhance the recent improvements of new cage netting and gravel installed on the footpath around the cages, concessions, and restroom areas.
We're only a few K's away from a successful Cyclone baseball season! By improving our bullpens with wood base pitching mounds and packed dirt, it will be a benefit for our athletes. We'll keep the bullpens in an area that is a safe distance away from on-field action while still easily accessible from the dugout.
