Bishop Ward Hires New Volleyball Coach

 August 5, 2016 (Kansas City, Kan.): Bishop Ward High School is excited to announce that Gabby Royal will be joining the school as head volleyball coach for the upcoming season.

“We are excited to welcome Gabby into our Cyclone family. Her experience and expertise will be a great asset to the volleyball program at Bishop Ward,” Remarked Athletic Director Kam Ridley.

Coach Royal attended Bishop Miege where she was on the state winning team and was named on the Kansas All-Star Team her senior year. She went on to play at the collegiate level at Newman University in Wichita, Kan. and was a three year starter leading the league in assists her junior year.

“I am a beyond excited to have been blessed with the opportunity to run the Bishop Ward volleyball program. I am a firm believer in you practice how you play. There will be no easy practices, but lots of fundamental training to get the Cyclones where we need to be. Through faith, hard work, and determination I am certain we will make this a successful season,” said Coach Royal.

This will be an exciting year for the Cyclones! Make sure to catch their first home game on Thursday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m. against Atchison and Bonner Springs.
