Bishop Ward High School Class of 2016 Achieves Success

Bishop Ward High School celebrated its 105th commencement on Tuesday, May 10 at Memorial Hall in downtown Kansas City, Kan. With a history of graduating 100% of their senior classes, Bishop Ward continued this trend and saw all 94 seniors walk across the stage. An amazing 23 students in the class were recognized as scholars of distinction, having maintained a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

“I am so very proud of each and every senior and how they exemplified a quality Catholic education. This could be seen in their everyday lives in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. I am truly excited to see what future holds for these gifted young people,” said Bishop Ward President Father Thomas Schrader, O. Carm.

We are proud to share that 95% of the class have already committed to college and earned a cumulative $2.6 million in scholarships. They will be attending schools such as Franciscan University, Kansas City Art Institute, Rockhurst, The University of Kansas, Kansas State University, The University of Missouri-Kansas City, and more. These students will be continuing a long lasting tradition of excellence. Make sure to wish them the best and way to go Cyclones!
