Bishop Ward High School

Renewed Focus on Enrollment

August 10, 2015 (Kansas City, Kan.): Bishop Ward is pleased to announce the hire of Kathleen Powell Moreno as the new Admissions & Student Program Manager. Powell Moreno will primarily oversee and focus on recruiting and admissions at Bishop Ward, including transfer and international students. She will also have a hand in various student programs including National Honor Society, Academy of Finance and others.

“We are committed to welcoming and reaching out to more families in our neighborhood and parishes as well as legacy students. Bishop Ward is their school and we need to ensure they feel welcome and know the great things happening here,” said President, Reverend Thomas Schrader, O. Carm. “Kathleen’s past professional and volunteer experience make her perfect to carry out the mission of Bishop Ward High School.”

Her previous work experience includes admissions at Donnelly College and developing Latino outreach for Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Additionally, she is active with Mission Adelante (a multicultural ministry community).  No stranger to the benefits of a Cyclone education, her volunteer experience has allowed her to mentor students at Bishop Ward while actively encouraging families to consider Bishop Ward.

Powell Moreno attended Georgetown University where she majored in Spanish and International Business and minored in Italian.

“I am so excited to be joining the team of caring individuals at Bishop Ward. I care deeply about the students and families of our community and am eager to become a part of Ward’s legacy of providing faith-based, college preparatory education in the heart of KCK,” said Powell Moreno.
