Bishop Ward High School

Students Go South of the Border!

As the final bell rang for this school year, a group of 11 students and faculty sponsors took off for the second annual mission experience to La Casa de Migrante in Tijuana, Mexico.

Students were invited back by Fr. Pat Murphy, CS, former Animator of Hispanic Ministry for KCK, to live and serve by cleaning, painting, praying, celebrating mass, preparing meals, and participation in an educational panel with migrants.

Faculty sponsor, Ursula Charbonneau ’03 said the experience “is a way for our students to build leadership skills and confidence by stepping outside the familiar, comfortable walls of Bishop Ward. It is a deeply spiritual experience and one they’ll never forget.”
