Over 100 Bishop Ward Alumni gathered at the school's Cyclone Café on Wednesday, March 18 for the inaugural combined Men’s and Women’s Alumni Luncheon. This energetic group met together to enjoy food, entertainment and a chance to reconnect with friends.
“The success of the 12th Annual Alumni Luncheon lies in the eclectic gathering of men and women, from all ages and national and ethnic origins, with a wide range of professional backgrounds and life experiences, who are joined together by sharing respect for the common experience and tradition of receiving their high school education at Bishop Ward High School,” said Patricia Service ’60 Burns, the chair of the planning committee.
A delicious Italian meal was provided by Bella Cuisine Catering and alumni Al ’80 and Sherry Trehey ’87 Seeman. A small ensemble of Bishop Ward students provided musical entertainment for the guests, while the real treat was getting to see alumna Diana Smith ’04 entertain with her ventriloquist act.
Smith’s puppet and partner were a hit with the crowd and provided laughs abounding. For her finishing act, Smith had alumnus Frank Simonich '61 join her on stage for a little improvisation. Smith and Simonich built a puppet on stage and acted out a scene based off of crowd suggestion.
