February 23, 2015 (Kansas City, Kans.): Bishop Ward High School is once again selling Povitica bread for the spring fundraiser. This locally-made, traditional bread is a favorite at holiday and family gatherings.
One motivated student is using all the right ingredients to become Bishop Ward’s top salesperson.
Grace Sherrod ’16 hopes to raise the most money for Bishop Ward and become the top seller this year. She finds the passion to fundraise knowing that she will help current and future Cyclone students.
“I fundraise to help this generation, and future generations of cyclones get the best education possible. Without fundraising, we wouldn’t have access to the tools we need. Knowing that I will be helping our school continue to be the great place that it is, drives me to sell the most bread that I can,” said Sherrod.
So far, Sherrod is hopeful that she will raise the most dough, what is her secret?
“Being super friendly and involved. If people see that you are involved and a good, hardworking kid they usually are more likely to buy,” said Sherrod.
If you would like to support Grace and other Bishop Ward students, you can order online at wardhigh.org under student fundraiser or you can call the school at 913.371.1201. Sales run from Feb. 5 through March 27.
