February 4, 2015 (Kansas City, Kans.): Stephanie Duenas '10 was back in the building recently speaking to Mr. Nick Tomasic's '90 art class. She shared with Bishop Ward students about the importance of following your passions, but also being organized and following through with necessary requirements and paperwork to achieve your goals.
Duenas is a first-generation immigrant that reminded students to take advantage of every opportunity they receive in high school. She credited Bishop Ward and all the teachers for providing such a solid foundation for her success.
Duenas graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in December majoring in Painting and Art History. She had the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy and cannot wait to return someday. She is currently working at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and has an art piece at the H&R Block Artspace.
